Lindy Hop

We run a weekly Lindy Hop Class for Absolute Beginner, Beginner and Intermediate dancers every Tuesday evening at the Reading Canoe Club, The Warren, Caversham, RG4 7TH (map):

Times

7.30 pm - Absolute Beginners

8.00 pm - Beginners ( those who have done very little swing dancing but are comfortable with 8 beat basic)

8.00 pm - Intermediate Level “Routine” Class

8.40 pm - Practice Time

9.00 pm - Improver Class (all those in Absolute Beginners/Beginners are welcome to stay for this class.)

9.00 pm - Intermediate Class

9.40 pm - Freestyle Dancing

10.30 pm - Close

Price
£7.00 - Adults for the whole evening
£3.50 - Students for the whole evening
Refreshments available, free of charge.

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing with shoes that will remain securely on your feet (ie no sling-backs, mules or flip-flops). Trainers are ideal as are leather/suede soled shoes.

Balboa

We run a monthly Balboa Class - Balboa Bonanza followed by a Tea Dance on a Sunday afternoon. This is usually at the Reading Canoe Club (map), but occasionally we have to use another venue, please check the “Balboa Bonanza” box on our events page or under “Latest News” Page.

What to Wear
Please wear comfortable clothing with shoes that will remain securely on your feet (ie no sling-backs, mules or flip-flops). Ladies will find it more comfortable dancing in shoes with a heel. Leather or suede soled shoes are best. As the dance involves shuffling and sliding the feet, trainers are not advisable.

Events

All Jazzed Up also runs week-end workshops in Lindy Hop and Balboa as well as other dances such as 1920s Charleston - often with international teachers. We are constantly adding new events, covering the whole range of swing dances.
